Mandenge Gets His Job Back

CYPRIAN “Supa” Mandenge looks set to bounce back as the Zimbabwe Sables head coach, barley a month after allegedly resigning from the post.

According to a source from within the Zimbabwe Rugby Union, Mandenge successfully held interviews for the post over the weekend, and beat another former coach Brendan Dawson.

“I can confirm that Cyprian Mandenge has got his job back and will be unveiled in the duration of the week.

“Roughly nine people applied for the post, with a huge chuck of them being foreign coaches.

“However, we had to streamline them to just two, Mandenge and Brendan Dawson, given that this is a non-salary job and we could afford to bring them in or take care of their upkeep while here.

“The two, Mandenge and Dawson, were them called up for interviews, after which Mandenge came out tops.

“While the nature of Mandenge’s contract is still being discussed, I assume his immediate targets will be the Hong Kong invitational slated for December, and getting the country out of the

Africa Cup Group 1B next year,” said the source.
