Mandaza Believes In Mighty Warriors Talent
MIGHTY WARRIORS skipper Talent Mandaza has rallied her troops to carry their Cosafa Cup form into the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers as Zimbabwe brace for a first round clash with Namibia.
Zimbabwe reached the final of the 2017 Cosafa Women Championships on home soil but lost 1-2 to champions South Africa at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo on September 24.
And Mandaza believes the Mighty Warriors should be inspired by that performance ahead of the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Zimbabwe play Namibia in Windhoek on April 5 before hosting the return leg at Rufaro three days later.
“Our chances of progressing past Namibia are high but it could be difficult. We believe anything is possible and we saw that at the Cosafa Championships last year,” Mandaza told SportsZone.
The Mighty Warriors are camping at Zifa Village and Mandaza revealed that the girls are in high spirits.
“So far so good, everything is going on smoothly. We are working hard because every one of us wants to go the Nations Cup finals,” said Mandaza.
Should Zimbabwe progress past Namibia they will face either Tanzania or Zambia for a place at the finals set for Ghana in November.
The Mighty Warriors qualified for the 2016 edition held in Cameroon.
