FOOTBALL enthusiasts will have to wait a little bit longer before they can enjoy the famed Zvishavane Derby whose first edition will come in Week 12.

The Zvishavane Derby has been fast gaining popularity since the promotion of FC Platinum in 2011 rivaling the already established Harare Derby which pits Harare neighbours Caps United and Dynamos.

The last edition of the Zvishavane derby was in 2014 a year in which the older of the two rivals, Shabanie Mine, were relegated back to the unfashionable Division One.

Zvishavane residents were last month treated to a glimpse of what to expect when the two teams clashed in the CG Msipa Charity Shield with FC Platinum emerging victorious in the penalty shootout after a nil all stalemate in regulation time.

But the real deal comes back in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League in Week 12 when Shabanie Mine play host to their neighbours who are the bookmakers’ pre-season title favourites.
