Cheetahs two loses in Monaco mean that they have been relegated to the second tier competition where they have beaten Mexico 19-10 and are set to take on fellow Africans Morocco in the semi-final of the Challenge Trophy. If they win here then they move on to the final of the Challenge Trophy where they will face the winner of the game between Tonga and Uruguay

Yesterday they started by losing 12-24 to Ireland, a side they were largely expected to get the better of before a brace of tries from Lenience Tambwera ensured they bounced back with a 21-14 win over Tonga. But in their third and final group game, the Cheetahs went on to suffer another loss to Pacific Ocean Islanders Samoa 21-7
