Kutyauripo’s Harare City Promoted

FORMER Zimbabwe International David Kutyauripo got his coaching career to a flying start after he won the Harare Province Division 2A championship with Harare City juniors with a game to spare.

Kutyauripo quit playing at the end of 2015 season after captaining premiership side Harare City to take charge of the Council owned side’s development side and has taken them to the Northern Region Division One within a season.

The team was confirmed and will join Mufakose United who have also won the Harare Province Division 2B championship race.

Mufakose United director Norman Chabata said they are not coming to add numbers to Northern region division one but to improve competition.

Mufakose will make history if they win or draw their last match as they will have gone for the whole season without a defeat.

“We are here to stay and hopefully be fighting for premiership ticket by 2018 as we have a very good team with experienced players.

“We managed to go for the whole season without a defeat which shows how strong our side is so we will remain focused.

“The team was formed early this year and we have managed to progress within a single season which shows how serious we are.

“We are not here to add numbers but to play competitive football and we know what awaits us in Division One.

“The team has a lot of experienced players and some have played for teams like DStv Rangers, Cargo Careers, Starbill, Twalumba among several others,” said Chabata.

Mufakose will conclude their campaign against Koala this coming weekend.

The ZIFA Northern Region relegation race is far from over as Shamva United, Kariba waves and DStv Rangers are the only confirmed demoted sides while two more will be decided on the final day as five teams will be going down at the end of the 2016 season.

Meanwhile, the race for ZIFA Eastern and Southern Regions will have to wait a little longer to decide who goes through to the premiership next season.

The Eastern Region saw log Leaders Buffaloes maintain their advantage when they defeated Africa trust 1-0 as their close rivals Yadah Stars managed a draw at home to Renco Mine.

Yadah Stars are three points behind leaders Buffaloes but have a game still to be decided as their match against Prime Rangers was abandoned a fortnight ago.

In the Southern Region two points separate leaders Bulawayo Chiefs and Bantu Rovers as they await their final matches this coming weekend.
