Kutyauripo Wasn’t Fired: City Cubs

UPCOMING coach David Kutyauripo will not be leading Harare City Cubs for their maiden dance in the Northern Region Soccer League after his contract expired.

Kutyauripo was in charge of Harare City Cubs in the Harare Province Second Division and managed to secure a First Division berth in the NRSL.

However, Kutyauripo won’t be able to continue with the good coaching work at City Cubs as he is out of contract.

Instead, technical director Elvis ‘Chuchu’ Chiweshe and coaches Kelvin Togarasei and Tarisai Kaseke will be in charge of City Cubs for the 2017 season.

Kutyauripo couldn’t shed any light on the reason of his exit at Harare City Cubs referring all questions to Chiweshe.

“I cannot say anything. Get in touch with Chuchu,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chiweshe confirmed that Kutyauripo is now out of the City Cubs picture but wasn’t fired only that his contract ran out and wasn’t extended.

“From my understanding, he is no longer part of the team. People should understand one thing my brother; people are contracted and a contract exists and comes to seize.

“Contracts differ and some people they have not been fired but their contracts would not have been renewed. It’s a case that his contract came to end and wasn’t renewed.”

Asked why Kutyauripo’s contract wasn’t renewed after a sterling job that he accomplished with City Cubs, Chiweshe said:

“I think on that you can ask the management,” he said.

It appears Kutyauripo has accepted fate as he is one of the three coaches in the employment queue at fellow NRSL debutants Mufakose United.
