Kutsanzira Can't Wait For Sunday

HIGHLANDERS star Rahman Kutsanzira is delighted he could play Dynamos at Barbourfields on Sunday.

The midfielder missed the last match between DeMbare and Highlanders through injury – the Independence Trophy final which Bosso lost on penalties.

Kutsanzira says it is every Highlanders player’s dream to play against Dynamos at Barbourfields.

He has played many such battles but says he never gets enough of them.

“Obviously this is a big battle. I was even talking to Prince (Dube) who is injured and he was telling me of his desire to play in this match.

“It just goes to show how important this match is for every player and we can’t wait for Sunday,” Kutsanzira said.

The midfielder has already been described by coach Erol Akbay as one of the very best.

“At Highlanders we play as a team and it is not about me or just one other player. That way, we are able to produce great performances.

“This is a must win game for us. Not just because this is Dynamos but because we need the full points to remain among the top clubs,” Kutsanzira said.

He said the fact that they managed to beat Dynamos in a league game last year after years of failure meant less pressure.

“It was important that we finally beat them and now it is a lot easier for us. We don’t have any pressure at all and we all believe we can win the game, something which is very important to us.”

The Bosso star said he watched DeMbare closely in the Uhuru final and concluded that they have a good side.

“They played very well in that final and we had to react. And there is no doubt that they have good players.

“I think the fact that they have a lot of new faces in their team made it difficult for us and it will be a challenge again when we face them on Sunday,” he said.

Dynamos are on seven points after a slow start to the season. They however have two games in hand against Black Rhinos and CAPS United.

Highlanders were held to a goalless draw by Chapungu at Ascot in their last match.

That result allowed Ngezi Platinum and How Mine to catch up with them. The three teams are all on 13 points.

“It is important to look ahead and we have to keep on trying to collect maximum points,” said Kutsanzira.
