Khama Billiat Back, Costa Out

WARRIORS poster boy Khama Billiat is back with coach Kallisto Pasuwa’s men after being named in the 23 men squad that will play Tanzania in an international friendly match at the National Sports on Sunday.

The Warriors are using the match to prepare for the 2017 Total Africa Cup of Nations finals to be held in Gabon next January.

Pasuwa had initially indicated that he had decided to rest the Mamelodi Sundowns attacker who has played almost every minute of his club’s football on their way to African club football glory and the ABSA Premiership title.

Former Harare City striker Tino Kadewere who is having a dream season with Swedish top flight club Djurgadens IF is also in the squad which saw the return of big Oscar Machapa of DR Congo giants AS Vita.

There was however no place for the England based duo of Burnley defender Tendai Darikwa and Colchester’s Macauley Bonne.

Czech based star defender Costa “Zim Asset” Nhamoinesu is the notable absentee as he is nursing an injury.

“It is unfortunate that Costa [Nhamoinesu], Evans [Rusike] and Blessing [Moyo] are all out due to injuries as confirmed by their clubs but at the same time this will be an opportunity for other players to get more game time in international matches,” Pasuwa told Zifa’s website www.zifa.org.zw.

Players, according to the Zifa website, will arrive for camp tomorrow with training due to start on Thursday.

Usual campaigners Knowledge Musona, skipper Willard Katsande, and ABSA PSL leading scorer Tendai Ndoro are also in the squad.
