Kariba Waves Head Coach Shame Nemasango Dies
THE Northern Region Soccer League has been plunged into mourning following the death of Kariba Waves head coach Shame Nemasango.
Sportszone.co.zw understands that Nemasango had been ill for some time having last been in charge at Kariba Waves on match day six before the club management gave him leave of absence from work.
The gaffer had joined Kariba Waves at the start of this season.
Kariba Waves secretary Pias Dure confirmed the sad news insisting that the club and football fraternity had lost a dedicated coach.
“It’s true and sad that we have lost Shame. He wasn’t feeling well for a while. We have lost a person who was dedicated and someone who could understand. It’s a very sad loss for the team,” he said.
Meanwhile, NRSL chairman Willard Manyengavana has sent a message of condolence the Nemasango family and Kariba Waves.
“It’s sad. We seem to be losing the most important people in our game. The guy was doing a good job and we are very sorry to his family and his club for the loss,” he said.
In the NRSL, Nemasango coached DStv Rangers, where he made his name, and Kariba Waves. He also spent some time in the Eastern Region with Prime Rangers.
