Kangwa Shoots Bosso Back To The Top As Tsipa Sees Red

Highlanders returned to the top of the Castle Lager Premiership with a 1-0 win over CAPS United at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

The Green Machine controlled the game in the opening minutes of the first half with defender Justice Jangano nearly putting his side into the lead in the seventh minute. Bosso however finished the first half in control with Bruce Kangwa and Eric Mudzingwa coming close just before the breather.

In the 58th minute the game twisted in favour of Highlanders when Leonard Tsipa lost his temper and head butted Highlanders defender Peter Muduhwa in an off the ball incident and was given a straight red card.

Bosso seized the chance presented by the numerical advantage to score the goal that turned out to be the winner when Kangwa converted in the 65th minute to take his goal tally to seven.

With the win Highlanders moved back to the top position with 30 points, ahead of second placed FC Platinum on goal difference.

Elsewhere, Brian Muzondiwa returned to the starting line up with a goal that saw FC Platinum bounce back from a mid week defeat to Hwange to beat Bulawayo Chiefs 1-0 and reclaim the second position with Caps United dropping to third.

At Dulivhadzimu stadium, Pasca Manhanga and Praise Tonha gave their coach Kelvin Kaindu redemption after having gone for eight matches without a win. Chikurupati last won a match back in May against CAPS United.

With the win How Mine moved a point above Hwange into 11th position.

The much anticipated student- master clash between Lloyd Mutasa’s Dynamos and Sunday Chidzambwa coached ZPC Kariba failed to produce a sparkle as the match ended in a goalless stalemate.

Even the return of Denver Mukamba, who added to the hype, failed to create a spark to spur Dembare to victory.

Chapungu finally found the consistency at home beating Mutare City 2-0 after having beaten Chicken 2-1 the previous weekend.
