Kaizer Chiefs Register Katsande as a Non-Foreigner

Warriors Captain Willard Katsande has acquired his South African permanent residence and this has cleared the way for Kaizer Chiefs to register him as a non-foreigner intime for the start of the new 2016/17 South African PSL league.

According to Kickoff.com Katsande met the minimum five years required to be eligible for permanent residence last season and opted to apply for his South African identity document.

With Katsande now a ‘local’, Chiefs have got an extra foreign slot open allowing them to add another player should they so wish.

Former Chicken Inn players Edmore Chirambadare and Mitchell Katsvairo, Togolese forward Camaldine Abraw and Zambian forward Lewis Macha are the four players that will be registered as foreigners by Chiefs this season.

Katsande left Zimbabwe at the start of the 2010-11 South African season after signing for Ajax Cape Town where he stayed for only a season before he was snapped up by Chiefs.

In the five years that he has been at Chief, the former Gunners man has grown to be the pillar of the club and was the most outstanding player last season.
