Jaure Goes Platinum
Patson Jaure has joined rejuvenated premiership side Ngezi Platinum from the relegated South African outfit Pretoria University.
Jaure who was heavily linked with a return to boyhood club Dynamos which has been used by many players returning from South Africa as a springboard to relaunch their careers, chose the modest Ngezi Platinum after being offered a lucrative contract.
Most players offloaded by South African clubs have in the past made Dynamos their first port of call. The likes of Tafadzwa Rusike, Archford Gutu, Rodrick Mutuma, Oscar Machapa and lately Denver Mukamba opted for the Glamour Boys but Jaure a Dynamos junior product broke what was fast becoming a norm and chose to look elsewhere.
A source within the Ngezi Platinum executive revealed to SportsZone that the gritty defender has signed a one year renewable contract together with former Gunners defender Byron Madzokere.
“I can safely confirm that Patson Jaure is now a Ngezi Platinum player together with Byron Madzokere. They signed one year contracts on Friday and their papers will be regularised with the premier soccer league on Saturday before the close of the mid-season window,'' said source.
According to the source, Jaure chose Ngezi after they offered a more lucrative offer than what was being offered by other suitors.
" Jaure still harbours ambitions of returning to p?ay in the South African league so he signed a contract which allows him to go back in January should he get a team. We also stand to benefit from his experience because we want him to guide us survive relegation.
‘’Another issue is that one of our center backs got injured against Triangle and is going to be out for long and thats why we brought in Madzokere,".
Ngezi Platinum are on the ascendancy since Tonderai Ndiraya took over midway through the first half of the season.
The premiership debutants have also added former Dynamos duo of Walter Mukanga and Kelvin Bulaji while Chris Mverechena is on loan from Caps United. The club released Jeffery Takunda and Blessing Mwandimutsira back to Buffaloes.
