Log leaders Caps United can clinch the 2016 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title if they beat Ngezi Platinum Stars and FC Platinum fail to beat Highlanders on Sunday.

The PSL confirmed Tuesday that the title race will take centre stage on what has been dubbed the Super Sunday.

On 57 points, Makepekepe need three points at the National Sports Stadium and hope that FC Platinum, who are on 55, slip at Mandava against Bosso who have accumulated 53 points after 28 rounds of Premiership action.

Caps United coach, Lloyd Chitembwe, acknowledges that reigning Chibuku Super Cup champions Ngezi are a banana peel assignment.

He watched Tonderai Ndiraya’s men at the Baobab two weeks ago when the Mondoro based side beat FC Platinum 3-1 in the Chibuku Super Cup final.

“I noticed they have become more compact, they are now a formidable side under Ndiraya. We just hope that we continue our fine run on Sunday,” Chitembwe said.

At Mandava FC Platinum will hope to beat Highlanders at their Zvishavane home for the first time since 2012.

Pure Platinum Play coach Norman Mapeza has refused to throw in the towel.

“It is God who put us in this position and He knows how it will (title race) end.

Dynamos take their top four chase to Gibbo where they clash with Triangle on Sunday while Chicken Inn host Border Strikers at Luveve.
