I'm On A Mission: Mupasiri
Farai Mupasiri says he is on a mission to revive his career at Shabanie Mine.
Mupasiri whose career was on the downward turn after being offloaded by Dynamos last season and rejected by a number of clubs before being accepted by Shabanie Mine was literally on fire on Sunday tearing apart CAPS United.
The former Dynamos striker operating just behind the main striker Collins Dhuwa was simply unplayable with Devon Chafa lucky not to have been sent off by lenient referee Brighton Chimene before he was later taken out for Joel Ngodzo in the second half resorting to rough play to contain him. But Mupasiri who showed more technical awareness than his teammates was to be also taken out after a nasty tackle from Moses Muchenje.
“I am here on a mission to put my career back on track. I am happy that I have been welcomed well on my debut," said Mupasiri.
“I was pumped up for this match because I know how these big games go. I have played against CAPS United before and really knew what to expect."
The former Dynamos forward said he is now anticipating another clash with a big gun as Shabanie play Highlanders next week.
“The debut is over and we now need to work for the match against Highlanders. Highlanders are a big team and dangerous at home but they should not underestimate us because we have a number of unknown elements within our squad. We can shock them," added Mupasiri.
The multi-talented Mupasiri who also represented the country in rugby at junior level was offloaded at Dynamos mid-season last year and since then he has been trying without luck to find a club. He even tried at CAPS United together with Sydney Linyama but were rejected by Lloyd Chitembwe.
Mupasiri broke onto the scene with Dynamos in 2011 with so much promise but his the potential faded over the years until he was offloaded last year.
