Zvenyika Makonese says he still has more years  to play despite advancing age.

The 39 year old Makonese who has seen action at Santos and Orlando Pirates in South Africa told SportsZone that he still has two more years to play before he contemplates hanging his boots.

“Actually I am still to reach my peak and old form. So I will continue playing until I realise that," said Makonese.

The former national team defender also said that he still harbours prospects of playing for the Warriors.

“I have the experience that is needed at that level. Should I be called I will accept it because it’s my country. I am ready to serve my country like before."

Makonese who started his career at Mashava before joining Shabanie Mine at the turn of the millennium, guided the Chinda Boys to win the 2016 Central Soccer League championship.
