I Deserved More: Mushure

OCEAN MUSHURE feels he deserved more than the second runners up medal he won at the Soccer Star of the Year banquet held at Cresta Lodge on Friday night.

TheDynamos skipper had a blinder of a season, leading a largely inexperienced side to second place but it was Rodwell Chinyengetere of FC Platinum who was crowned the 2017 king of local football.

“I thought I did well to deserve more but such is the nature of the game,” said Mushure.

FC Platinum defender Kelvin Moyo was the first runner up.

Chinyengetere pocketed $5 000 for the Soccer Star of the Year award plus another $1 500 for making it onto the calendar.

The night belonged to champions FC Platinum as their coach Norman Mapeza was crowned Coach of the Year ahead of favorite Lloyd Mutasa.

Mutasa however revealed that Mapeza was more deserving than him.

“In the end Dynamos were second best and I think Mapeza deserves it. He did well,” said Mutasa.

Chicken Inn keeper Elvis Chipezeze won the Golden Glove while Leeroy Mavhunga of Yadah FC clinched the Young Player of the Year award.

Top referee Ruzive Ruzive won the Referee of the Year award for the second year running.
