I am At Dembare To Add Value: Machazane

Marshal Machazani made his debut for Dynamos on Thursday joining the elite clique of players who have played for both Highlanders and DeMbare – two of the biggest clubs in the country.

Machazani,29, was part of the last crop of Highlanders players to lift the league title in 2006 before a sojourn that took him to Botswana and Swaziland.

He joined DeMbare during the July transfer window.

As fate would have it, Machazani was presented to the Dynamos supporters for the first time when he squared up against his former team How Mine where he made cameo appearances during the first half of the season.

The rousing welcome quickly reminded Machazani of the daunting task ahead of him as the DeMbare fans are hard to please but the Bulawayo born player was also quick to declare that he was made of sterner stuff.

“I am at DeMbare to add value not to just add up numbers,” he says.

“I am here to add value nothing else. I know what is expected at DeMbare and I am also not cheap stuff.

“I am battle hardened, I know what is expected when one plays for a big club like Dynamos which has millions of supporters,” said Machazani.

“I have played for Highlanders before where supporters are also demanding so I know what supporters expect from us especially the new recruits.

“I have also played for Mbabane Highlanders in Swaziland and Mochudi Centre Chiefs in Botswana which are some of the best supported teams in those countries.

“So I am fully aware of what is expected of me. I am a fighter and a winner, with the support I am getting from my teammates I will be able to help the club to fight for honours,” he said.

Machazani captained relegated WhaWha under Lloyd Mutasa last season and was ecstatic at his reunion with the gaffer he regards one of the best he has ever worked with.

“I am happy to reunite with coach Mutasa because he is one of the best coaches I have worked with.

“He brings the best out of the players. I played some of my best football with him last season and it’s a pity that I was affected by some injuries.

“I want to pay back the faith that he has in me by doing well at Dynamos so that he will be able to vindicate why he brought me here.”
