Hopeful Milito Looks Ahead
MILTON “Milito” Ncube says he wants to continue with his revival at How Mine next year.
Milito made a return mid-season to the local Premiership coming from Ajax Cape Town and signed a year-long contract which expires mid 2017.
Although his arrival at Chikurupati was not enough to boost Kelvin Kaindu’s charges, he believes the future looks bright.
“I’m looking forward to the next season whilst still at How Mine. I was happy that I was playing regularly though I struggled with my fitness in the first four games. After those games I just got going,” Milito said.
The former Warriors left back arrived at a time when Kaindu was trying to add fresh blood into the team.
He played a key role in the second half of the season as the coach tried to come up with effective combinations.
“You know with football you are never satisfied because there is always room for improvement. All I can say is I did my best in those matches that I played.”
How Mine eventually failed to make it into the top eight, the first time that Kaindu has failed to lead a local team into the top four after guiding them for a whole season.
“I think I can safely say we had a poor season as How Mine. We were just not consistent enough to challenge for honours.
“We conceded very soft goals of which it made life very difficult for ourselves. We had too many draws of which if we turned a few of those draws into wins we would have been up there. We just hope next season we will come back stronger,” Milito said.
Asked on what his targets are for next year, he said: “I would like to take How Mine back to where they belong.”
