Gumbo In Perfect Start As Chicken Inn Coach

Highlanders’ 1-1 draw against Harare City at Barbourfields saw Norman Mapeza’s FC Platinum open a five point gap on top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League while Rahman Gumbo’s era as the Chicken Inn coach got off to a good start when his side thrashed Mutare City 3-1 on the road.

Highlanders had to come from a goal behind to draw 1-1 against Harare City at Barbourfields while Triangle and Bulawayo City played to a 1-1 share of spoils at Gobo as Hwange were 2-0 winners over travelling How Mine.

Chicken Inn got their opener through Tafadzwa Kutinyu in the 10th minute but the hosts equalised in the 31st minute through Kudakwashe Gurure and that was the only time they found the target before George Majika and substitute Edmore Chirambadare added one apiece.

It has to take substitute Kasimero Chimbadza’s 78th minute goal as Highlanders salvage a point at home, Harare City having led through Martin Vengesai.

How Mine walked out of the Colliery with nothing to show for their efforts, Pervington Zimunya's 53rd goal doubling Hwange’s minute lead after Gift Mbweti had put the hosts in the lead 15 minutes into the game.

Triangle’s Dzingai Chirambamuriwo’s 20th minute goal into the game was cancelled out by Bulawayo City’s Lewis Ncube 10 minutes from the break.
