The Warriors enjoyed an almost perfect qualifying campaign, making it to the Gabon finals as Group L winners with a game to spare.
As early as the second minute, Guinea pushed for an early goal as they attacked on the left flank, but the shot went narrowly wide from a tight angle.

Knowledge Musona burst into the box in the 10th minute but failed to unleash a powerful shot as his effort was saved by Guinea goalkeeper.

Guinea broke the deadlock as Michel beat Tatenda Mukuruva from inside the box following some sluggish marking by Costa Nhamoinesu.
The hosts continued to dominate as the first half wore on but were not clinical in the box, missing their chances.

However, Kalisto Pasuwa's men tried a shot at goal with one minute to the interval but it was deflected to fly over the cross bar.

The warriors came back from the break a more determined side but failed to beat the Guinea goalkeeper.
Tendai Ndoro who was introduced in the second stanza had a chance midway in the half but pushed the ball too much allowing the Guinea goalkeeper to collect before he shot at goal.

With 14 minutes remaining, Tatenda Mukuruva nearly caused a blunder when he spilled the ball in the box only to be saved by skipper Willard Katsande.

Despite claiming a win, Guinea will not reach Gabon next year as they now have only eight points from six matches.
