Guard Against Desperation...Maringwa Urges Players

Desmond Maringwa has urged players to be wary of desperation and rush into signing contracts during this mid season transfer window without much consideration.

Maringwa, the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe president said most clubs have a penchant of waiting until the last day to offer players jobs as a ploy to hoodwink them into signing some contracts which are not favourable.

“Players should seek assistance during this period because some clubs take advantage of the fact that they will be desperate for a job. So they wait until the window is about to close when players have little time to study the contents of the contract and just sign out of desperation“, said Maringwa.

The mid season transfer window opened on the first of July and the period which is regarded as the silly season has seen not much in terms of movements this far.

Dynamos were the biggest shakers shipping out Walter Mukanga, Farai Mupasiri, Richard Kawondera, Kelvin Bulaji and Evans Gwekwerere while Simbarashe Gorogodyo joined from Tsholotsho and Denver Mukamba returning after a three year stint in South Africa.

Caps United re-registered Devon Chafa while Ngezi Platinum took Dynamos rejects Mukanga and Bulaji.

Chicken Inn signed former TP Mazembe duo of Chris Semakweri and Darryl Nyandoro and former Bosso star Ozias Zibande.

FC Platinum have signed Makai Kawashu and are said to be interested in Tsholotsho captain William Sitima.

Chapungu signed Aleck Marime formerly of Hwange.

How Mine are still assessing Peter Moyo and Gilbert Mapemba while Milton Ncube is waiting on the wings should he fail to find another club in South Africa after being released by Ajax Cape Town.
