Golden Arrows Extend Danny "Deco" Phiri's Contract

WARRIORS defensive midfielder Danny Phiri has impressed Golden Arrows who have exercised the option of a further two years on the Zimbabwe international linkman.

The 27-year-old holding midfielder joined Arrows at the beginning of the 2016/2017 ABSA Premiership season on a one-year deal with an option of two more years, which the club has now activated.

The reason behind the club’s decision to keep Phiri is due to the impact that he has made within his 25 appearances in all competitions this season.

His representatives have confirmed the latest developments, which will keep the former Chicken Inn star in Durban until at least June 2019.

Phiri was crowned the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Player of the Year back in Zimbabwe in 2015 before becoming key figure in the Warriors' national team.

He joined Arrows from former Zimbabwean champions Chicken Inn.
