Girls Rugby For South Africa

After an impressive debut in which they registered two victories in the South Africa national Girls Under-18 Week last year, Zimbabwe will again feature in the Kimberly Festival

Last year they registering victories over Eastern Province and SWD – a side they will face in their opener again this year.

The teams will play on Monday, Wednesday and Friday respectively, while Tuesday and Thursday have been classified as rest days.

This year’s festival will be hosted at the Northern Cape High School in Kimberley from July 4 to 8.

Western Province, the top team in 2015, will kick off the Under-18 Week against Eastern Province, while runners up, Border, will meet the Blue Bulls. Hosts, Griquas will meet the Limpopo Blue Bulls in the final match of the day.

In the Under-16 Week, Western Province, who won all of their matches last season, will meet KwaZulu-Natal in their opening match, while the Leopards, who also remained unbeaten in the 2015 edition of the competition, will go up against the Valke. Hosts, the Griffons, will face the Pumas in their first match.

The results of the opening day’s play will determine which sides face each other in the second round on Wednesday.
