'Future Looks Bright'
WARRIORS interim coach Wilson Mutekede believes the future is bright after he was impressed by the United Kingdom based players ahead of Saturday’s friendly match against Namibia.
The quartet of Kundai Benyu (Celtic), Macauley Bonne (Leyton Orient), Admiral Muskwe (Leicester City) and Tendai Darikwa (Nottingham Forest) made their Warriors debut against Lesotho on Wednesday.
They are also expected to play a role when Zimbabwe clash with Namibia in Windhoek on Saturday.
“Their level is top class, they are very good players who can add value to the national team,” said Mutekede after the team’s training session on Friday afternoon.
The Warriors departed for Windhoek at lunchtime and are expected back in the country on Sunday.
“These friendly games are not all about results, they are about gauging where we are, integrating the new players coming from the UK,” said Mutekede.
Mutekede is assisted by close friend and Caps United gaffer Lloyd Chitembwe.
