Former Soccer Star Mukamba In Sorry State
Is Denver Mukamba’s career doomed?
Well, the 2012 Soccer Star of the Year is at it again. Sources claim that the former Warriors skipper, is back to his drinking ways and has been spotted in serious drunken stupors in recent days.
They say Mukamba, who held the nation spellbound when Dynamos romped to their second consecutive title in 2012, is now in a sorry state.
Mukamba had stopped reporting for training a month before the 2016 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League concluded and Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa is not amused.
Mutasa is the coach who introduced Mukamba to the top flight league during their days together at Kiglon in 2010.
Mutasa took a then exciting and youthful Mukamba to Dynamos when he was appointed as Elvis Chiweshe’s replacement for the 2011 season.
“Father, it really disappoints more so when one gets a second chance and fails to utilize it,” said Mutasa.
“I am looking for him, I want to have a serious chat with him,” said Mutasa.
The 24-year-old Mukamba had a failed stint in South Africa where he could not impress at Bidvest Wits, University of Pretoria and Jomo Cosmos amid allegations that he would bunk training sessions for drinking expeditions.
He was absent when Dynamos beat Highlanders 3-2 after penalties in a Bosso @90 Challenge match played at Barbourfields last Sunday.
