Forgotten Warrior Seeks Revival
Forgotten former Warriors striker and Supersport United player Kingston Nkhatha wants to end the year on a high but is wary of George Chigova’s unpredictable Polokwane City as the two brace for their final game of the year.
Nkhatha has had an indifferent 2016/2017 Absa Premiership season having scored just two goals in 12 appearances ahead of Wednesday night’s clash with Polokwane City.
Matsatsantsa are three points behind surprise log leaders Cape Town City.
"Polokwane City are on a fantastic form," Nkhatha was quoted by his club's website.
"There’s a lot of teamwork in their squad, that’s why they are fighting and pushing their way up.”
The bustling striker has made seven starts for Supersport United and wants to give his club’s supporters something to cheer before the year closes.
"This is not going to be an easy one. We are also prepared for this match and want to give our supporters a nice Christmas present," added the Zimbabwe international.
United, who lost 2-1 to the Cape Town City in the Telkom Knockout final on December 10, are facing a Rise and Shine side that are exceeding expectations under Luc Eymael this season.
While Eymael's men lost 3-2 to Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, the team are fifth in the standings with 21 points from 14 games - a point behind Matsatsantsa.
