
FIFA Rankings Stir Debate
While the debate over the Zimbabwe’s current position on FIFA World Rankings the biggest movers on the African continent are reigning Afcon champions Cameroon who are now third, up from 12th.
Zimbabwe’s Warriors are now ranked 32nd on the continent and 105th in the world after a shoddy show at the Afcon finals from where they managed a single point in three group games.
Afcon runners up Egypt are now the continent’s best team, moving up from third on the January rankings while Senegal who were number one in Africa before the Afcon finals now occupy second position.
Cote d’Ivoire have slipped from second to ninth while the DR Congo are now the fifth best team on the continent.
South Africa are 13th, Zambia 22nd and Kenya 20th.
