With question marks still hanging over the change from Zifa to NAFAZ, a FIFA spokesperson has given the latest position on the validity of the new body.

Fifa says that it has been informed by the Sports and Recreation Commission of Zimbabwe that it intends to recognize the National Football Association of Zimbabwe (NAFAZ) in line with the Sports and Recreation Commission Act following the dissolution of the Zimbabwe Football Association. 

FIFA further says that it awaits official confirmation of NAFAZ’ registration before considering any further steps.

So this means that NAFAZ has still not been recognised by Fifa, but things seem to be moving slowly in the right direction.
