FC Platinum Optimistic
FC Platinum are still optimistic that they can reclaim the top spot in the premiership and win the league title at the end of the season.
FC Platinum surrendered the number one position to CAPS United last week after a morale sapping 2-1 defeat to Harare City but assistant coach Daniel Veremu believes his team can rise again and go on to win the title.
“We might the game to Harare City last week but that is not the end of the world for us. There is still a lot to play for in the remaining for games. We need to pick ourselves up in the next match and collect maximum points,” said Veremu.
“All we need to do is to win all our remaining games and see what happens at the end of the season. God is the only one who knows our destiny, he knows the team that will lift the championship and we are not panicking neither are we under pressure.”
FC Platinum who are bidding to be the first team in Zimbabwe to win the league title outside of Harare and Bulawayo hosts Ngezi Platinum Stars at Mandava stadium on Saturday.
At one time, the Pure Platinum Play was seven points clear at the top, but a poor run at home where they drew a lot of matches saw Caps United and Highlanders close the gap.
They will be without anchorman Gerald Takwara who was red carded in the match against Harare City but are likely to have cover in Nqobizitha Masuku and Winston Mhango should they pass late fitness.
