Fans Bay For Mapeza’s Blood

Disgruntled Fc Platinum supporters held Norman Mapeza hostage in the dressing room after a disappointing 1-1 draw against Ngezi which narrowed their chances of winning the 2016 league title.

The fans blamed Mapeza for the team’s poor run which saw them being dislodged at the top by CAPS United last week.

Mapeza shouldered the blame butremained defiant thet his team is still in the race.

“I take the blame for the team’s performance as head coach but we are still in the race. It’s Still Far From over,” said Mapeza.

Last season FC platinum lacked character and endurance towards the end allowing Chicken Inn to win the title.

Central defender Kevin Moyo had put FC Platinum ahead in the first half but Partson Jaure equalised in the second half to put a bigger dent on Pure Platinum Play’s chances of lifting the title.

Mapeza’s side has struggled a lot at home, dropping crucial points, which could have seen them take an unassailable.

At some stage they led CAPS United by seven points and with CAPS United in action on Sunday against Dynamos and Highlanders also playing Bulawayo City the same day, chances are Pure Platinum play may fall further behind if the two win their respective matches.
