Family Affair At Luveve...As Tsholotsho-ZPC Kariba Clash
It will be a family affair at Luveve stadium on Saturday as ZPC Kariba’s Thomas Langu Sweswe square up against his brother Lizwe Sweswe who coaches Tsholotsho.
Diminutive midfielder Kriss Chitiyo, son to their sister Martha, will fight in Lizwe’s corner as Tsholotsho will be hoping to get maximum points to survive relegation while, Thomas will be gunning for three points to help ZPC Kariba’s cause for a respectable finish.
ZPC Kariba’s Sweswe, Thomas, said it will be an emotional game up against his brother and nephew who are down, looking for something to clutch on to stay afloat.
“It will be my first time in my career to face my brother and nephew in a game situation. It must have been interesting had been at another stage of the league but it comes at a time when they are down, trying to survive while I am pushing for a respectable finish,” said Thomas.
“It’s going to be emotional because we will all want to win at all costs. On the field of play, I will be up against Kriss, who grew up idolising me and it’s like he will be up against his hero. But family aside, I will play to get three points and have family issues later.”
Tsholotsho coach Lizwe, who named his son Thomas Junior, said it will be an interesting match as they will be chasing contrasting fortunes.
“We are fighting to survive and he is fighting to end the season on a high or maybe title. So for ninety minutes we cast the brotherhood away. I have the nephew on my side so hopefully we will triumph on the day. It’s going to be a Sweswe family day on Saturday as we clash with Thomas something which I anticipated when he returned o the local league,” said Lizwe.
ZPC Kariba beat Tsholotsho 1-0 in the reverse fixture at Nyamhunga stadium but Thomas did not feature in that game.
