
Edzai Kasinauyo Buried
The late former Warriors midfielder, former ZIFA board member and player agent Edzai Kasinauyo was buried on Saturday at Glen Forest Cemetery in Harare where hundreds of football’s well heeled gathered to pay last respects to Zimbabwe’s gallant football son.
Kasinauyo died at the age of 42 in Johannesburg on June 16.
Football legends attended the burial which was also graced by administrators and current players.
They all described the late Edzai as a true football person.
“This is a big loss first to the Kasinauyo family where he came from, his close family members and to Zimbabwean football as whole,” lamented Peter Ndlovu.
Benjani Mwaruwari described the former Caps United and Arcadia United player as a job creator.
“He created job opportunities for young Zimbabwean players and in the process managed to feed hundreds of families. I feel he had more to offer had God not taken him,” said Mwaruwari.
Among the football people who attended included Ian Gorowa, Edelbert Dinha, Harlington Shereni, Lloyd Chitembwe and Dumisani Mpofu.
Francis Chandida, Fungai Kwashi, Carlos Max, Albert Mabika, Desmond Maringwa and Kennedy Nagoli.
ZIFA vice president Omega Sibanda, Caps United president Farai Jere, PSL chief Kenny Ndebele, Chris Sambo, and former ZIFA CEO Jonathan Mashingaidze also attended.
Kasinauyo leaves behind two sons jayden (12) and Justin (10). He had divorced his wife of 12 years, Faith Fadzai Makoni, last year.
