DYNAMOS TO ACT ON MUTUMA, ALIMENDA FEUD
Dynamos will take action against senior players Stephen Alimenda and Rodreck Mutuma for their nasty confrontation on Sunday against Ngezi Platinum.
Alimenda and Mutuma had an ugly feud over who was supposed to take a free kick late in the second half leading to both of them being yellow carded. Mutuma buoyed by his goal off the bench became overzealous and wanted to take the free kick with Alimenda who is the vice captain adamant that regular dead ball specialist Godknows Murwira should take the kick. The players pushed and shoved and had to be separated by teammates.
“We will definitely take action as the leadership of the team. We should not allow such kind of behaviour to happen again. Roddy was having his confidence after scoring, so he wanted to try his luck but it’s one of those things that happen in an emotional game. We will sit down as a team and rectify that," said Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa.
Mutuma is not new to controversy involving teammates as he was once suspended by the team during the 2014 season after a training ground fight with then captain Murape Murape who is now the assistant coach. Mutuma a temperamental player has been coming off the bench in recent games after losing his starting berth to youngster Kudzanayi Nyakasaka. Dynamos take on rejuvenated Harare City on Saturday in another potentially emotional game. Harare City coached by former Dynamos coach Moses Chunga have rediscovered their form winning the last two matches away to Ngezi Platinum and Bulawayo City.
