Donovan Faces DeMbare

DONOVAN Bernard faces Dynamos on Thursday for the first time since he snubbed the giants during the off-season transfer window.
Bernard was the preferred replacement for Tatenda Mukuva who moved to Cape Town City.
However, no amount of effort put by DeMbare could persuade the Warriors number two at the 2017 AFCON finals in Gabon to join them.
“We tried all we could and Mr Marechera was dealing with the issue. We could not get a break through and I’m not sure about some of the details.
“In the end, the was really nothing to talk about even though we had targeted him,” club president Kenny Mubaiwa told H-Metro.There is however no guarantee though that Donovan will be the number one as Kelvin Kaindu is spoilt for choice when it comes to goalkeepers.
DeMbare on the other hand gave up on the chase and settled for the goalkeepers they had with hope they will develop.
Of late Tonderai Mateyaunga seems to have risen to the challenge and could become a reliable goalie as the season progresses.
Ashley Reyners has now become the number two after he failed to satisfy coach Lloyd Mutasa.
How Mine finally won their first game against Chapungu 2-1 in their last game and they are hoping for another better outing.
DeMbare on the other hand also registered their first league game win at the Colliery, 1-0 against Hwange.
