DeMbare's Timely Boost

DYNAMOS’ quest to finish the season in the top four has been boosted by the return to full fitness of key centre back Elisha Muroiwa who could start when DeMbare host Mutare City at Rufaro on Sunday.

With the fading giants out of both the league race and Chibuku Super Cup, a top four finish is all Lloyd Mutasa’s men can now fight for in a season the former champions looked so ordinary that they lost they lost back to back against Highlanders for the first time in 10 years.

Dynamos are fifth on the log, a point behind ZPC Kariba and will be all out for maximum points on Sunday if they are to keep alive their hopes of a top four finish.

And the return of Muroiwa, who sustained a shin injury on Warriors duty at the Cosafa Cup finals last June and Denver Mukamba, who missed the Harare Derby a fortnight ago with an unspecified ailment, should be a massive boost for desperate DeMbare.

“Everything is back to normal now, I am ready for action,” Muroiwa told Sports Zone.

“It was not good to miss the matches especially the Harare Derby, the dramatic change of the result when we led 3-0 only to concede three in the last five minutes of that game still pains me.

“Games of such magnitude are a test of character, that is why I wanted to play but I couldn’t because of injury,” he said.

Dynamos are winless in their last three outings and have conceded six goals in the same period making the return of man marking specialist Muroiwa a timely development.

Sunday “Mhofu” Chidzambwa’s ZPC Kariba travel to Bulawayo City on Sunday hoping to bounce back from a 0-2 defeat suffered at the hands of Chicken Inn in the same city a week before the season took a break to accommodate the Chibuku Super Cup semis.

Chicken Inn who are on sixth position with 38 points and still with an outside chance of claiming a top four place, clash with How Mine in a Bulawayo Derby on Sunday.
