DeMbare Trials Washed Away
The heavy rains pounding Harare and most parts of the country forced Dynamos to cancel trials at Motor Action on Thursday morning but coach Lloyd Mutasa is impressed with the turn out so far.
DeMbare will now hold their last trial session on Friday at Rufaro Stadium because Motor Action is waterlogged.
With little resources to finance a bold attack on the market, Dynamos who have lost a number of stars in the offseason, have been forced to conduct trials with the hope of getting unheralded and cheap players for their 2017 season.
There is no sign that BancABC will renew their marriage with DeMbare which expired last December and the endless boardroom squabbles at the club will most likely scare away potential sponsors.
However, Mutasa is optimistic he will come up with a formidable squad although he should also worry about his position which could come under scrutiny at Sunday’s AGM.
“The turnout is fantastic, we have seen a number of good players coming. We will finalise tomorrow (Friday),” Mutasa told SportsZone.
There are chances that 2013 Soccer Star of the Year Tawanda Muparati could rejoin DeMbare who have now gone two seasons without a league title.
But there is a huge uncertainty over Denver Mukamba who disappeared from the scene before the end of last season amid reports the former Soccer Star was on a drinking spree.
Rodreck Mutuma wants to see out his contract with DeMbare which expires in June but Valentine Ndaba and Stephen Alimenda have been linked with Eastern Region Division One champions Yadah Stars.
Dominic Mukandi, Godknows Murwira and Brett Amidu have already left the club.
