
DeMbare Finned For Crowd Violence
Ailing Harare giants Dynamos’ nightmarish start to the 2016 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League got worse Wednesday afternoon when they were fined over $4 000 for their fans’ violent behaviour, the latest coming in Sunday’s 1-0 loss to FC Platinum.
According to a circular released by the Premier Soccer League, DeMbare will pay a $2 000 fine for missile throwing by their fans when the team lost 0-3 to Chicken Inn at Barbourfields in a season opener on April 2.
They will pay a similar amount for a similar offence committed during the league match against city rivals Caps United on May 1 while axed Portuguese coach Paolo Jorge Silva’s expulsion from the technical area for in the same match attracted a fine of $125.
Caps United were also fined $2 000 for missile throwing by their fans who went overboard in celebrating their goal against DeMbare in the Harare Derby.
Dynamos are certainly going to be fined for the chaos that engulfed Rufaro and its environs after last Sunday’s 0-1 defeat against FC Platinum.
Highlanders have also been fined $2 000 after their fans rained missiles onto the turf following their team’s 1-2 loss to FC Platinum at Barbourfields on April 10.
Women’s soccer administrator Cecilia Gambe’s unruly behaviour at Sakubva on May 8, where she invaded the pitch and threatened the referee during Mutare City’s match against How Mine has cost the Premiership newcomers $2 000.
Bulawayo City were fined $750 for failing to enter the stadium through a designated entry point in their match against Chicken Inn at Luveve on May 7.
The Gamecocks were also fined a similar amount for a similar offence in their match against Triangle at Luveve on May 13.
Under fire Harare City coach Taurai Mangwiro will fork out $125 after he was expelled from the bench in the match against Triangle at Gibbo on April 3 while struggling Border Strikers will part with $250 for delaying the kick off against Chicken Inn at Maglas on April 10.
