DeMbare Fine Run Continues

Harare giants, Dynamos continued with their fine run on Sunday after dismissing a stubborn Tsholotsho Fc 0-1 in a castle premier league match played at Dulivhadzimo stadium.

The glamour boys had to wait for 79minutes to get the winning goal, which came through the industrious, Quality Kangadzi after he outpaced Godfrey Mukambi and beat Tsholotsho goal keeper Chang Mariyoni.

However, despite conceding the goal, Mariyoni had a good day in the office for the better part of the day making a number of brilliant saves.

With the coming in of new coach, Darlington Dodo, Tsholotsho matched Dembare man for man and were just unlucky to concede the goal towards the end of the game.

Denver Mukamba nearly put the Harare giants in the lead with 17 minutes on the clock, but Godfrey Mukambi made a timeous intervention blocking Mukamba’s goal bound shot.

Tsholotsho are yet to register a win since they moved base from Bulawayo to Dulivhadzimo this season.

Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa said it was a difficult game against a side that is equally good and was hungry for success.

“I am happy that we played well though we missed several scoring opportunities.

“It is always good to score and avoid conceding. We are now focusing on our next game with log leaders Ngezi Platinum stars”.

Iziqholo gaffer, Dodo said they played well and that they were unlucky to concede a goal towards the end of the game.

“We played as a unity in all departments, but lack of concentration towards the end of the game cost us. We need to improve on that,”he said.

“We wanted to win this game and hence we attacked and defended as unity. In essence our handicap is that we were not clinical in the box”.

DeMbare’s purple patch began with a 1-0 win over Harare City on Africa Day which was followed up with an impressive 3-1 massacre of ZPC Kariba last weekend.

The former champions are now eighth on the log with 17 points as they await the judgment on their abandoned match against Highlanders

Elsewhere, In an early kick-off at the National Sports Stadium in Harare, Yadah took full advantage of a blunder by Ruzive Ruzive to draw 2-2 with Hwange. Yadah keeper Tafadzwa Dube handled the ball outside the box but Ruzive waved play on resulting in Yadah going on an attack and scoring the equaliser.

Raphael Manuvire, Talent Chamboko and Tawanda Munyanduri were on the score sheet as ZPC Kariba bounced back from the defeat to Dynamos when they beat Bantu Rovers 3-1 at Nyamhunga Stadium.

Bantu Rovers pulled one back through a penalty converted by Bukhosi Sibanda who, now has 8 goals in 11 games.
