Crucial Byo Football Indaba Postponed

ZIFA Bulawayo province has postponed its annual general meeting set for this Saturday to allow its members to attend President Mugabe’s 93rd birthday celebrations set for Rhodes Estate Preparatory School on the same day.

The annual general meeting has now been tentatively penciled for March 12.

One of the teams playing in the league, Matopo Rangers comes from the same area where the celebrations, set to attract thousands of Zimbabweans, will be held.

Acting Zifa Bulawayo provincial chairman Francis Ntutha confirmed the postponement which he said was unanimously endorsed by members.

“It is really meant to avoid a counter attraction and to afford our clubs an opportunity to attend our iconic leader’s momentous occasion.

“It would not augur well for us to have our meeting at the same time that the President is in our region for such an important occasion in his life,” said Ntutha.
