Costa Is A Lion - Agent

COSTA NHAMOINESU’S German based agent Jakob Slowik has described the Sparta Prague and Zimbabwe national team defender as a lion that will roar at the 2017 African Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Slowik who spoke to SportsZone late Friday, ahead of Sparta Prague’s Czech Liga match against Slavia Praha on Sunday, also said the Warriors talismanic centre back had recovered psychologically from the Europa League nightmare.

Nhamoinesu was controversially adjudged to have handled the ball early into his side’s Europa League Group K match against English Premier League team Southampton on September 15, before Sparta Prague crumbled to a 0-3 defeat at St Mary’s.

Sparta Prague are on a bad patch, having failed to win in their last three matches and they occupy fourth position on the Czech Liga table, four points behind log leaders Mlada Boleslav who have 19 points after seven rounds of action.

“He (Nhamoinesu) is chilled as usual, he has never been different, honestly speaking the boy is a lion,” said Slowik.

The well travelled agent, who has vast links in the German Bundesliga and the Polish Ekstraklasa, tips Nhamoinesu to shine at the 2017 Afcon finals which kick off on January 14.

Zimbabwe are the lowest ranked among the 16 qualified teams that will go into the Afcon finals draw on October 19.

There are strong chances the Warriors will be placed in a very difficult group.

“That doesn’t matter; I think Costa will do great because he is not afraid of big names! He is used to play against them.

“He is looking forward to that (Afcon finals) and he says it is something special for him to be there,” said Slowik.

Nhamoinesu will be 31 when the 2017 Afcon finals kick off in Libreville and the dreadlocked defender, who played for Amazulu and Masvingo United in Zimbabwe, will indeed make a late entry at the African soccer jamboree.
