Coaching Crisis At Triangle

There is a coaching crisis at Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League side Triangle who on Wednesday had their preseason training conducted by two senior players as the hunt for a new coach continues.

Triangle parted ways with Dynamos legend David “Yogi” Mandigora at the end of last year and are yet to appoint a substantive coach.

Goalkeeper Ronald Mudimu and striker Lameck Nhamo were in charge of the preseason training at Gibbo on Wednesday.

According to The Herald, Triangle are now targeting ZIFA technical director and former Harare City coach Taurai Mangwiro after talks with Egyptian gaffer Mohammed Fathy fell through.

Fathy who has also coached at Highlanders before has decided to stay in Zambia.

Mangwiro was quoted by The herald on Thursday: “During the offseason a lot of things do happen, including a lot of gossip. I am a coach and our job is being in the dugout,” he said.

Former Hwange and FC Platinum coach Tenant Chilumba has also been linked with a move to the Lowveld but he wants to stay in his homeland Zambia.

Legendary Zimbabwean coach Sunday “Mhofu” Chidzambwa was also sounded out but he has since renewed his contract with ZPC Kariba, a club based in the resort town Mashonaland West.

Failed former Highlanders coach Bongani Mafu is also being mentioned as a possible successor for Mandigora at Triangle.
