Forgotten striker Dominic Chungwa put an end to CAPS United’s winless streak with a sublime finish as the defending champions beat ZPC Kariba 1-0 on Sunday at the National Sports Stadium.

The Green Machine has been under pressure to turn around their fortunes after a difficult spell in the league that has seen them lose players and points which has confined them to an unfamiliar position in the relegation zone.

CAPS United remain in the bottom four but have six games in hand.

Elsewhere, Maxwell Mawuna’s solitary strike gave hosts Triangle all three points against Bantu Rovers at Gibbo Stadium while Hwange overcame a battling Chapungu 2-0 with Collin Muleya and Delic Murimba getting the goals for Chipangano.

Highlanders failed to utilize home advantage as they dropped points in a goalless draw against Harare City.
