Chungwa Benefited From Bunjira: Abba Amidu

EGYPT based Zimbabwean striker Brian Abbas Amidu feels his former teammate at Caps United Dominic Chungwa’s goal scoring exploits are a result of the influence of Makepekepe legend Alois Bunjira.

Amidu also says the presence of assistant coach Fungai “Tostao” Kwashi in the dressing room has also elevated the fighting spirit within the Caps United camp.

Caps United finished fifth on the log in a season they fought the war on two fronts as they went as far as the group stage in the CAF Champions League.

The Green Machine provided two players Chungwa and Devon Chafa on the 2017 Soccer Stars calendar.

“I am happy for Dominic and Devon, they deserve their place amongst the best,” Amidu told SportsZone from Egypt.

“Chungwa is a good striker who I think benefited from working for some time with Bunjira who as you know was a great striker during his heyday.

“Coach Tostao, who was also a striker in his playing days, also brings this desire for success, he is a good motivator,” said Amidu.

The former Caps United striker is now playing for Egyptian Premier League side El Entag El Harby and has scored one goal this term.

“Life is good here and I have settled well. That goal I scored against Nasr on November 23 was crucial. Let’s see what happens next,” said Amidu.

El Entag El Harby are ninth on the 18-team log table.
