Chiyangwa Vows To Leave Positive Mark On local Football
Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president Philip Chiyangwa says he wants to leave a lasting legacy in Zimbabwe football.
Chiyangwa, who was elected to the top football job in Zimbabwe in 2015, was speaking at a function in Harare addressing young entrepreneurs at the SHIFT platform.
The SHIFT is a congregation of entrepreneurs designed to transform minds to accept and grasp success.
Chiyangwa said his decision to run for the top job in Zimbabwean football was motivated by the need to do something different.
“When I announced that I will be running for the Zifa presidency some people said Chiyangwa is finished, he is a clown, why does he want to associate with the madness that is local football.
“But look someone has to do the job and I raised my hand and am determined to it well.”
Meanwhile Zimbabwe Senior mens football team manager Shariff Mussa will attend Wednesday 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) draw in Gabon.
Chiyangwa also took the opportunity to confirm that Mussa will be representing Zimbabwe at the draw.
“The AFCON draw is in Gabon on Wednesday and our team manager will be travelling.
