Chiyangwa Is The New Cosafa President


Philip Chiyangwa has been elected president of the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (Cosafa).

The ZIFA president was elected unopposed after South African Football Association boss Danny Jordaan withdrew before the vote.

Chiyangwa takes over from Suket Patel of Seychelles who chose not stand after completing two terms in office.

Chiyangwa told Supersport he was happy and humbled to lead Cosafa.

Frans Mbidi of Namibia was voted in as vice-president for the next five years.

General Pedro Neto (Angola), Andrew Kamanga (Zambia), Sameer Sobha (Mauritius), Alberto Simanga (Mozambique) and Walter Nyamilandu-Manda (Malawi), make up the committee.
