Chiyangwa Blasted For Alleged Bias Towards Dynamos

FORMER Highlanders vice-chairman Mgcini Mpofu has blasted ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa and accuses the football chief of bias towards Dynamos following the Barbourfields Stadium chaos, in which agitated Bosso fans forced the abandonment of the match after Dynamos had equalized in the 42nd minute.

Mpofu, who lost his post to Modern Ngwenya, took to social media to vent his anger, blaming Chiyangwa for poor administration, delegating incompetent and biased referees.

He also accused Chiyangwa of supporting Dynamos.

The Battle of Zimbabwe match ended prematurely as Bosso supporters threw objects into the field of play, accusing assistant Referee Thomas Kusosa of allowing an offside goal to stand.

Highlanders have since been summoned to appear before a Premier Soccer League (PSL) disciplinary committee to answer for the unruly behavior of their supporters during that match.

“Zimbabwe football is embarrassing, you get people who are supposed to be the national football administrators making it known that they support Dynamos...the ZIFA president even walked out of Rufaro stadium in 2016 as soon as Bosso scored the second goal against DeMbare.............this season they seem to have agreed to frustrate us using their supporters masquerading as referees,” he said.

Mpofu further insinuated that Chiyangwa was a dictator and threatens anyone who challenges him.

He added, “.....when you challenge Chiyangwa's style of administration you are suspended under the trumped up charges of bringing the game of football into disrepute.”

SportsZone understands  Highlanders fans have since created an account in which fans can contribute to cater for PSL fines.

“....Bakamthwakazi, here is the biller code 70662, let’s send our contributions from $1 up.....ukujwayelwa no and am unapologetic.”

“Bosso family mobilising funds just in case the team is fined by PSL so that biller code is the Bosso biller code where people can send their contributions.”
