Chitembwe Values Mushekwi Boost
CAPS United gaffer Lloyd Chitembwe values Warriors striker Nyasha Mushekwi’s presence at Makepekepe’s training ground as he prepares for the final onslaught at the league title.
Mushekwi, a former Caps United player who played under Chitembwe back in 2009 has been training with Makepekepe in the run up to their final league game against Chapungu at Ascot on Saturday.
Makepekepe lead the log standings with 60 points, two more than FC Platinum and will automatically clinch the league title if they beat Chapungu.
And Chitembwe believes his players, especially strikers, got valuable notes from Mushekwi who is now based in China with Dalian Yifang.
“Having him (Mushekwi) here at the training ground is invaluable. You know his pedigree as a striker and his experience.
“Nyasha achieved a lot with Caps United before he reached the level he is at today and it is good that he has come back to motivate the boys ahead of a crucial game,” said Chitembwe.
Mushekwi’s season in China has ended and he has also trained with Bidvest Wits of South Africa in a bid to keep fit ahead of the 2017 Afcon finals in Gabon.
Meanwhile, Ashley Rambanapasi, a championship medal winner with Caps United in 2004 and 2005 is confident Makepekepe will romp to victory in Gweru.
“It is not going to be easy but something tells me 2016 is Caps United’s year. The boys did well and they deserve to wrap it up with a title.”
