Chitembwe Hunts For A Top Striker

LLOYD CHITEMBWE has begun the search for a top striker to replace Golden Boot winner Dominic Chungwa who joined South African ABSA Premiership side Polokwane on Friday afternoon.

The 31-year-old Chungwa, who was the 2017 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League top scorer with 17 goals, signed a three-year contract with Rise and Shine.

It has been reported that Polokwane are working round the clock to register the former Caps United man in time for their league match against Mamelodi Sundowns next Saturday.

Chungwa joins fellow Zimbabwean Walter Musona and keeper George Chigova at the South African club.

It is the departure of Chungwa and the looming exit of his strike partner at Caps United John Zhuwawo that has prompted Makepekepe coach Chitembwe into a hunt for a top striker.

Zhuwawo is on the radar of various clubs in the ABSA including Ajax Cape Town who recently snapped Gerald Takwara from FC Platinum.

Midfield kingpin Devon Chafa and skipper Moses Muchenje have also been linked with a move to Egypt.
