Chitembwe Costs Caps United $3k, Jere Livid

TEMPEREMENTAL coach Lloyd Chitembwe cost Caps United $3 000 in fines for snubbing the mandatory post-match interviews.

Chitembwe on numerous occasions delegated the duty to his assistants Fungai Kwashi and Mark Mathe and became a subject of numerous complaints from members of the media.

Caps United are the PSL’s most ill-disciplined team for the second year running and their owner Farai Jere is not a happy man.

Makepekepe continue to fare badly on the PSL disciplinary log table and they continue to accumulate huge fines.

“It’s very disturbing when you have to lose funds from your league prize money because it has been deducted through fines that could have been easily avoided.

“The funds could have gone to pay some of the players whom we owe money,” said Jere.

Makepekepe finished bottom of the 18-team log with 685 points.

The league penalizes five points for every yellow and 10 points apiece for a red card, delaying kick off and for using wrong entry at a match venue.

A fine of $499 and less attracts 10 points while anything above $500 gets 30 points.

Highlanders were 17th while Taurai Mangwiro’s Triangle were the most disciplined team with 185 points followed by FC Platinum who had 190.
