Chitembwe Bullish
CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe says Makepekepe are ready to cause an upset when they face five-time African club champions TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League.
Makepekepe will play the Congolese giants in the first leg in Lubumbashi this Sunday and then conclude the tie at home a week later.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Chitembwe said they have done their homework and are looking to get a result under the foreign conditions.
The Green Machine coach appeared upbeat, flanked by his captain Hardlife Zvirekwi, board member marketing Hannah Wright and representatives from their new partners Rainbow Airlines who gave an assurance on the travel arrangements.
“What’s driving us more is the desire to want to compete at this level of the game and also it is our dream to compete against the best in Africa,” said Chitembwe.
“It has been quite an experience for us in our last games and obviously for the upcoming games against TP Mazembe.
“So I think the boys are physically, technically and tactically at the level that I personally feel they should be,” said Chitembwe.
